On the night after the legendary Whitney Houston passed away, a legend in the making may have been born right in front of our eyes as  British songstress Adele sweeps her nominations at the 54th annual Grammy award show. After winning the major awards such as Album of the Year, Record of the Year, and Song of the Year, Adele returned back to the music scene to set the industry on fire including her first live performance since her vocal surgery. With this historic night under her belt, Adele has joined a class of legendary Grammy nights by joining fellow singer Beyonce Knowles by tying the record for most Grammy wins in one night by a female artists, the fourth artist (Beyonce, Eric Clapton, Quincy Jones) to win 6 awards in one night becoming only second to the late Michael Jackson and guitar legend Santana.
As Adele gained glory, the Grammyís showcased a stage of performances which included a reformation of the band the Beach Boys as they performed with Maroon 5, Paul McCartney, Bruno Mars, Rihanna and Coldplay, and many other exciting artists. The best performance of the night may have gone to singer Adele who sang her Grammy-winning song Rolling In The Deep for the first time since her voice surgery. The worst performance of the night was easily rapper Nicki Minaj as she became an example of being different is not always better.
As Adele went a perfect 6 for 6 through her awards, many other notable artists walked away with multiple awards such as rapper Kanye West, who won 4 awards, 2 for his hit single All of the Lights, one for his collaborative hit Otis with fellow rapper Jay-Z, and another (Rap Album of the Year) for his multi-platinum album My Dark Beautiful Twisted Fantasy. Cee-Lo Green and Melanie Fiona brought home 2 awards together for their R&B single Fool for Youî. The Foo Fighers walked away with 5 Grammy awards tonight also winning in categories such as Rock Album of the Year, and Best Rock Song. Other big name winners included Tony Bennett with 3, Taylor Swift and newcomer Bon Iver with 2 (Best New Artist), and Lady Antebellum and Chris Brown with 1.
While the Grammys displayed the talent that is currently in the music industry, they took a time to show love to all of the artists that have passed away in the pass year. After the tribute, by former American Idol contestant turned Academy Award winner Jennifer Hudson performed a rightful tribute to the late Whitney Houston y Award winner Jennifer Hudson performed a rightful tribute to the late Whitney Houston by singing her own rendition of I Will Always Love You. Though it was the only performance for Mrs. Houston that entire night, Hudson did a wonderful job in showing her respects.
