The Savannah State University campus was on lockdown after a shooting in the Student Union on Thursday night.
Police are seeking a male suspect who may be in the University Commons area.
Blood was on the floor in the Student Union after the incident. Students were asked to leave the Student Union, and police were scattered all over the campus.
Officials say one victim was hurt, though the name was not disclosed.
The lockdown was lifted at midnight. No one was able to leave or enter campus during the lockdown Thursday night. Students in the residential areas are encouraged to stay in their rooms.
Savannah State President Dr. Cheryl Davenport-Dozier arrived on campus at 11:45 p.m. Thursday to speak with students about the incident.
Lockdown has been lifted for the Savannah State University campus. A campus email was sent out at midnight on August 28.
