Michael B. Jordan reprises his role Adonis Creed in the second instalment of the “Creed” film series. “Creed II” was directed by Steven Caple Jr, a relative newcomer and former classmate of Ryan Coogler. “Creed II” draws heavily on the forty year old Rocky franchise, causing some to refer it the movie as the 8th Rocky film.
As the films opens, Jordan Creed wins the title of world heavyweight champion after he delivers a knockout punch. The movie consists of numerous surprise punches and a couple of smooth faints; however, when compared to the second and third “Rocky” films, “Creed II” falls short of icon status because it does not produce any new characters or situations.
Ivan Drago loses everything after being defeated by Rocky, and plans his revenge through his son, Viktor. When Adonis and Viktor face off, their fight between can be described as a payback match. Jordan proves himself to be a fantastic actor.
In conclusion, “Creed II” is a film about faith. It is all about how Adonis Creed gets lost in the wilderness and how he fights his way back to glory. Heart and skill make “Creed II” a satisfying watch.
