Bringing you grace, poise and elegance.

We are at the second column already and I have some exciting news that I am proud to present!

Ever since the year 1975, EBONY (yes EBONY magazine) has celebrated African-American collegiate women – poised to make a positive change in the African American community – through the HBCU Campus Queens competition.

Ten beautiful, talented and accomplished HBCU Campus Queens will be featured inside April/May 2017 issue of EBONY.

So what does that mean for Savannah State University?

We have the opportunity to highlight our intuition of higher living on an INTERNATIONAL scale!

The contest is easy! It consists of online voting this year. A photo, video and bio of each Campus Queen will be posted on EBONY.com website, giving all networks (family, friends, community organizations, etc.) an opportunity to vote for the queen of their choice. Online voting begins at December 5, 2016 at 12:01 AM CST and ends on January 5, 2017 at 11:59 PM CST. Voters are allowed to vote as many times as they wish until the deadline. This competition requires active participation on social media! The official hashtag is #EBONYCampusQueens2016

Lastly, the 10 elected EBONY HBCU Campus Queens with the highest number of votes will have an opportunity for an all-expense paid trip to receive a makeover with professional hair and wardrobe consultation. This trip leads up to the official “HBCU Campus Queens” photo shoot, which will be featured in the September 2016 issue of EBONY magazine. So again, Monday, Dec. 5, is when SSU can vote!

Gracefully,

The 78th.
