The Savannah Philharmonic presented its annual Picnic in the Park, at Forsyth Park on Sunday, Oct. 7.

The event has drawn more than 20,000 people to watch the free concert from the Philharmonic in the park.

Audience members brought blankets and family games while they ate and listened to the sounds of the orchestra. According to the website, the event is in partnership with the City of Savannah, Savannah-Chatham County Public Schools, local colleges, veteran's groups, and other corporations. One of the goals of the event is to give students a chance to perform in a professional environment.

The event started with the U.S Army Band, then students from the Savannah Youth Choir performed. The evening finale was the Philharmonic.

Many vendors including Leopold's Ice Cream, Bowtie Barbecue, Big Boy Cookies and others were on site for the event.
