Savannah State University has released through the LiveSafe app that since Georgia state Governor Brian Kemp has issued a mandatory evacuation for six of Georgia’s coastal counties, including Chatham County where SSU is located.

The campus will be closed from Tuesday, Sept. 3, to Thursday, Sept. 5. Currently students are advised to watch their D2L accounts in order to keep up with their classwork during the state of emergency until further notice from the university.

Savannah State University student housing is closed as of today at 6 p.m. Campus housing and transportation has been found within the University System of Georgia for those students on campus who were unable to evacuate.

More information can be found on the Savannah State website here and on the LiveSafe and Everbridge apps.
