Covid-19 protocols caused the Savannah State University men's and women's basketball teams to make adjustments to their schedule while the baseball schedule was adjusted due to inclement weather.
According to SSU athletic website, since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, Savannah State University Athletics has put the health and safety of its student-athletes, coaches and staff first. "While postponements can be frustrating, our greatest priority is returning our student-athletes to play as safely as we can," Savannah State Director of Athletics Opio Mashariki said.

Changes this week included the postponement of the women's basketball season opener against Allen University on Tuesday, Feb. 9, as well as the Feb. 8, 13, 14 and 15 men's basketball home games.
Baseball's three-game series on Feb. 12 and 13 with Salem University has been moved to April 9 and 10, due to inclement weather in the Savannah area this weekend.
Women's basketball are set to open their season on Thursday, Feb. 11, in Tiger Arena against Benedict College. Men's basketball will open its season, Monday, Feb. 15, against Allen University in Tiger Arena.
Baseball will open its season on Feb. 27 with a three-game series at Voorhees. Their first home game is scheduled for March 2 against Edward Waters College.
