On February 4, two prominent organizations on campus battled it out on the hardwood in front of a nice crowd at Wilcox-Wiley gym to raise money for charity. Achiever's of Today and Tomorrow Inc. (ATnT) and The Delta Eta chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. competed in ATnT's 2nd charity basketball game. The annual basketball rose over $103, which will be used to go towards both organizations' Relay For Life teams. Relay For Life is the American Cancer Society's signature event that brings more than 3.5 million people from 4,900 communities across the country together each year to celebrate the lives of those who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and fight back against a disease that takes too much Sophomore Class President, Corvin Bradley, and member of ATnT, was the project chair for this successful event. This was Bradley's second year organizing the game. The expectation for this event was set really high. "Each year this game continues to get bigger and bigger," said Bradley. "It's always a good thing when you can have fun doing something for a cause!" Both teams were very competitive on the court. Each team practiced hard for the game. Justin Hankins, member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc., said, "Members of ATnT are very competitive and we wanted to make sure we gave them some good competition!" Members of ATnT were looking to redeem themselves since they fell short against Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc. last year. The game was a heavy weight bout of epic proportions with constant lead changes throughout the game. In the end, Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. came out victorious defeating Achiever's of Today and Tomorrow Inc. 67-62.
