SSU Basketball looks towards improvement

Savannah State men's basketball team finished in the top 5 in the MEAC conference (13-16 overall, 10-6 conference). The Tigers were ranked 3rd in the nation in 3-point shots made with 392, and 1st in 3-pointers per game with 13.5.

Savannah State men's basketball coach Horace Broadnax said the season showed Dexter McClanahan and Zach Sellers were the two players who he will be looking to, to lead the team next season.

“The team's motto every season is always put ourselves in position to win a championship,” Broadnax said.

The team's progress has improved a little in the past few seasons.

"I thought it was good we were able to score the basketball and increase our points per game 20 plus. And we may [be] consider[ed] the top 5 highest scoring team in the nation,” Broadnax said.

Broadnax recognized players who improved this season including Troyce Mannasa, Dexter McClanahan and Robert Kelly. These three players had an outstanding season and the stats to prove it.
