Savannah, Ga.- The Savannah State University women's volleyball team Lady Tigers (0-5) lost their first home game, 3 to 1 (21-25, 25-23, 15-25, 13-25), on Wednesday, Sept. 5, to The Citadel.

Sophomore middle blocker Oneillia Fuller led the Lady Tigers in kills. Fuller had 10 of the 35 kills for the Tigers.

Sophomore setter Salma Mia Gonzalez Sosa led the Lady Tigers with 20 assists. She also had seven digs and three kills, while junior outside hitter Liz Domary Ortiz Munoz led the Lady Tigers in digs with 14 and 2 aces.

In the first set, the Tigers struggled to take the lead, allowing the Bulldogs to get away with a 1-0.

In the second set, the Lady Tigers started strong and ended the game with a strong win scoring the final 10 of the last 16 points.

In the third and fourth sets, the Lady Tigers gave a great effort to take the lead battling head-to-head with the Bulldogs, but Citadel closed the game by winning both sets leaving the Lady Tigers with a loss at the first home game.

The Lady Tigers return to the court on Friday, Sept. 7, when they travel to William & Mary College to battle in the Colonial Classic.
