The Lady Tigers defeated Coppin State University 68-57 at Tiger Arena on Feb. 9.

The last time the two teams squared off was Jan. 5, when Savannah State University defeated Coppin 76-70.  

Snapping a 5-game losing streak, the Lady Tigers stepped up to make sure they clutched their second win against the Hawks. With this won over Coppin State, SSU had three players score in double figures.

Sophomore Alexxus Sowell, who had a double double with 12 points and 10 rebounds. A team high of 14 points came from freshmen Myasia Jones, Sophomore Jalen Gray with 10. Sophomore Jacquece Alston had 13 points.

Quasia Lampkin came off the bench and scored 15 points, with five steals. The Tigers had advantages in assists (18-10) blocks (9-6) and steals (15-6), while Coppin State had more turnovers, 22-14.

The Lady Tigers will face Morgan State University on Feb. 11 at 5:30 p.m. at Tiger Arena.
