The Tigers had a great start at the first half, battling with the Spartans on Monday night. Point after point, block after block and steal after steal; but, Savannah State University fell short to Norfolk State University in the 4th quarter, losing 87-92.
Coach Horace Broadnax said the team looks to improvements going into next game.
“We have to make plays to change the complexity of the game, as far as rebounding and making some layups and free throws," he said.
“You can leave the horse the water, but you can’t make them drink. You can set the table with a great meal, but you can’t force them to eat," said Broadnax.
Senior shooting guard Troyce Manassa lead the team with his career high of 27 points. Austin Dasent was the second leading scorer with 17 points.
The Tigers will play Morgan State on Feb. 18 at 4 p.m. in Baltimore, Md.
