The Lady Tigers tennis team of Savannah State University, while off to a rocky 0-3 start, remains optimistic and upbeat as the season moves forward. With conference play starting March 25, the Lady Tigers look forward to improving and fast.

Senior team captain Rachida El Kateb said her goal for the year is "for everyone to enjoy the season, and to get to the conference championship." 

Freshman Ekaterina Vorobeva, who was ranked number in her hometown of Naberezhnye, Russia, also had high hopes and expectations for her debut season as a Lady Tiger. She said her goal is "to win the conference."

The Lady Tigers are coached by Carolina Lainez. Entering her second year as head coach, Lainez was an assistant for SSU from 2014-2015.

Lainez and the Lady Tigers will be heading to Charleston, South Carolina on March 3, to face off against Charleston Southern University as well as the College of Charleston.
