Savannah State softball dropped to Alabama State on April 23 by scoring 3-6 at the Lady Tiger Field. The pitchers of the game were Savannah State's Faith Dickerson and Alabama State, Justine Jean. 

In total Savannah State ended with 10 hits resulting in only three runs. 

Alabama State took a 1-0 lead the first inning due to a fielding error by the 3rd basemen. Savannah State answered with a run in the third as Stacie Smith crossed home plate. 

In the fifth inning Alabama State’s Amira James had a homerun. Savannah State returned that same inning with Cortni Jones and Stacie Smith. 

The final four runs came from Alabama State resulting in SSU falling short 3-6. Faith Dickerson was tagged with the loss for Savannah State.

Dickerson pitched seven innings and gave up 10 hits, 6 runs and three walks while striking out four. Stacie Smith had two for SSU and scored twice.

SSU had ten hits, made two errors and left eight runners on base.

Amira James had three hits, two RBI and scored twice for Alabama State. Alabama State left eight runners on base and made one error while collecting 10 hits. 

The Lady Tigers will face South Carolina State University in a doubleheader on Saturday, April 27 at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. at the Savannah State University softball field.
